Photo of the Day 22nd September 2025.

A man standing on stage - he has a shaven head, an is wearing a blue t-shirt with a hand-drawn square image of a cartoon character in the middle of the chest, and a dark blue pair of trousers. Ge is holding a microphone up to his mouth with his left hand, with his right arm in the air by his head. It is a big stage, and although he is surrounded by people, he almost seems alone. A man can be barely discerned sitting behind a black drumkit at the rear of the stage, and another man wearing a white top is almost out of view on the far left of the frame, but other than that, only percussion instruments, racks of amplifiers, and stage lights can be seen.
Moby on stage at Manchester Apollo, 12th November 2000, taken on a crappy little Canon 35mm compact. Funniest part of the night was when he was introducing the members of the band – he would call out their name and instrument and a bit of back story, and they would yell “Hey!” or ” ‘Sup!” or “How ya doin’?” or some such down the mic. And then there was one of his backing singers, who just happened to be a local lass from right here in Manchester (RIP Dianne Charlmagne, who left us 10 years ago, much too soon), who came out with the traditional Mancunian greeting of “HIIYERRR!”, accompanied by an extravagant wave with both hands.
