Photo of the Day 2nd March 2025.

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair and wearing a brown strapless top with a scarf tied around her neck. She is holding a microphone to her mouth with her right hand, which she is singing in to, with her eyes closed. There are several bangles on her right arm. The walls behind her are a mustard yellow, with red shadows being cast by stage lights.
Lennie Butler, lead singer with Sandbox, performing with the band at Korumba, Manchester, 14th February 2024.

On This Day 2nd March 2007.

Two members of a rock band playing their instruments. On the left is a man with brown hair, wearing a blue t-shirt with dark blue sleeves and almost indecipherable white writing on the chest, and playing a 4 stringed bass guitar. Behind him is a large amplifier with 4 speaker cones, and 2 glowing 2 racks on the top. The racks seem to shine through his body. Ion the right is a wan with dark hair and a bit of facial stubble, wearing a red and white shirt and dark grey pin-stripe trousers, playing a yellow guitar adorned withlots of stickers. A microphone on a stand is in front of him. The walls and ceiling behind them are purple. The photo is taken with a long exposure time, meaning that as both men move, they and their instruments leave light trails.
Mike Dickaty (bass) and Rob Clougher (guitar/vocals) of the band Connecting Flight at The Castle, Oldham, 2nd March 2007. I miss The Castle, it was demolished and turned into a car park for an office block, and it is astonishing just how small that car park is – all those fun nights, turned into a slab of tarmac. 🙁

Bonus Photo of the Day 2nd March 2025.

The singer from a band, crouching down on stage and singing into a microphone held in his hands, his eyes closed. He is wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans, and has short, spiky brown hair A man wearing a green t-shirt and playing a red and white guitar can be seen in the background
The lead singer from Duckhunt during an all-dayer at The Star And Garter, Manchester, 23rd March 2003. Duckhunt were a Ska-Core band from Preston, but were regulars on the Manchester scene – unfortunately, this was the only time I ever saw them.
