Photo of the Day 3rd March 2025.

A young woman with red hair, wearing a blue top that leaves her arms bare. In her right hand she is holding a microphone to her mouth, her mouth wide open and her eyes closed as she sings. Behind her, the room is dark, apart from the rather dirty white tiles on the ceiling.
Amber Trivass, lead singer of Nomad, a band from Wrexham in North Wales, at a gig at The Royal Mail Club, Chester, 15th September 2003. She had a fantastic voice, and was probably the best thing about the band.

Close up of the upper body and face of a young man with short, blond-ish hair, wearing a black t-shirt with a white logo, holding a microphone in his left hand, which he is singing (or possibly snarling) into. He has been afflicted with a terrible case of red eye, caused by the camera flash. There is a red tinge over the entire frame, caused by a long exposure resulting in some movement. Wooden panelling on the wall fills most of the background, with yellow wallpaper showing at the top of the frame.
Sam Edwards, lead singer of the band Vigilance, in full flow at a gig* at The Astley Rifleman, Staleybridge, 6th September 2012. The band spilt up shortly after. Full disclosure – Sam is my son… *Not so much a gig as a very public rehearsal!

Bonus Photo of the Day 2 3rd March 2025.

Three members of a band, lined up side-by-side at the front of a stage, all singing into microphones on stands in front of them, and playing guitars. On the left is a man with short, wavy brown hair and wearing a black t-shirt, in the middle is a woman wearing a flower print dress, her long, dark, wavy hair cascading over her shoulders, and with a gold-coloured band around her head. On the right is a man with unkempt, slightly long dark hair, covering his eyes at the front, and wearing a grey shirt over a blue t-shirt. In the background, the walls and ceiling are black, with red "Roadhouse" titles on a beam over a purple alcove.
Howling Bells, at The Roadhouse, Manchester, 21st May 2006.
Being honest, I know nothing about this band, apart from that they are American, and that Andy, the drummer from one of the bands I worked for, was a massive fan, and asked if Sandbox could open for them.
