Photo of the Day 11th March 2025.

2 members of a band performing on stage-on the left, a man with brown hair, wearing a black t-shirt and dark blue jeans, playing a black and blue bass guitar, leaning forwards, with another man on the right, with unkempt ginger hair, and wearing a dark blue t-shirt and light blue jeans, playing a purple electric guitar and leaning backwards. Both men are frozen in place by the flash, but are still obviously moving, leaving coloured shadows at the edges of their arms and heads. A red light in the upper right corner is painting the center of the frame, creating visual echoes of the head of the bass. Black walls with mounted wooden frames fill the background.
Ben Murray (bass guitar) and Mike Mullard (lead guitar) of Junk Culture on stage and doing their thing at The Barfly, Liverpool, 25th November 2003. I had a stylistic thing going on, long exposures to create dynamic movement, frozen in place by a flash.

On This May 11th March 2004.

Long exposure shot of a woman wearing a black top and skirt with red highlights, playing an electric guitar. A flash has been used to freeze her in space, and swirls of red light show where she has moved afterwards. Discrete points of light in the darkness behind her head have turned into white streaks.

Bonus Photo of the Day 11th March 2025.

Vertically-oriented, low-resolution shot of a white man with a bushy goatee beard, and wearing a backwards baseball cap on his head, and a black t-shirt bearing an image of 2 people in a band, one of whom is playing a guitar, with some indistinct text at the top. He is holding a microphone in his left hand, and appears to be gesturing towards the crowd. Behind him, a bare-chested black man is singing into a microphone on a stand, holding the mic in his left hand, and a trumpet in his right. A green light in the background is shining down by his waist. Black walls and ceiling fill the rest of the frame The whole scene has a red tinge from the stage lights.
