Photo of the Day 15th March 2025.

A rather colourful long exposure shot with a snap zoom of a man playing a guitar and singing into a microphone. One of the stage lights has washed out all details of his face, and both he and the microphone on it's stand appear to be shrinking and vanishing in to the middle of the frame, surrounded by green smears of light. Red walls and ceiling fill the rest of the frame.
Ben Singleton, lead singer of The Idiot Rate at a gig at Bar Academy, Islington, 23rd January 2007. One of my favourite arty shots, and all done in camera!

A man playing a large white bass guitar. He is slightly hunched over, and is wearing a grey and white hat, a black t-shirt with a white square logo in the middle of the chest, and blue baggy jeans, with white trainers. Behind him on the right are some amplifiers, while the drum kit is on the left. A red curtain acts as a backdrop, highlighted by a red light shining on the middle.
Barry Sloane, the original bassist for Junk Culture, at a gig at the L2, Liverpool, 5th July 2001. This was their first ever gig, and it certainly wasn’t the last time I saw them.

Bonus Photo of the Day 2 15th March 2025.

A man with his back to the camera, on his knees and lying backwards, the soles of his footwear visible underneath him. He has wavy brown hair and is wearing a white t-shirt, with a guitar strap over his left shoulder attached to a guitar in his hands. A black guitar amp with a silver "Marshall" logo is in front of him at the back of the stage. Red walls covered in black curtains fill the background.
Sam Walkerdine, singer and guitarist with The Business Owls, seeing how low he can go on stage at Night And Day, Manchester, 1st May 2004. My knees are hurting just looking at this…
